Who is Emily Gadbois?
One day, I hope to have a cool list of credentials here, but for the time being, all I can give you is some context of who I am as a person and an author.
I grew up reading. A lot. I trended toward fantasy, but I read realistic fiction and sci-fi as well. My imagination thrived in that space between finishing one book and beginning another. I would brainstorm the stories that I would want to read next, but I never thought I’d be good enough to write them. As it turns out, having children forced me to make the most out of my free time. So now I have three kids, a wonderful husband, two (and a half) completed manscripts, and so many ideas. From me, you can expect fantasy stories formed from someone who grew up adventuring through the pages of books, and now I want the chance to take you on some adventures too.

- Asking me to name my favorite book sends me into a panic.
- So far, I’ve been a discovery writer (make it up as I go), not an outliner. However, I’m hoping to find a happy medium on future projects.
- My taste in music is eclectic. I love the Beatles, Twenty One Pilots, Noah Kahan. I’m all over the place. My favorite song at the time sometimes depends on my manuscript.
- I finished my first book in 2020.
- Right now, I have three active projects and another three or four inactive brainstorms on the backburner!
